Prisonnier de guerre, Fernand, bien que marié avec Christiane, reste en Autriche à la fin des hostilités, auprès de Gerda. Mais le mari de cette dernière, libéré, revient de Sibérie. De retour en France, Fernand trouve son épouse remariée à André, et son petit restaurant transformé en un bel établissement...
